Mir, you can probably do it easier in Quicktime Pro (though it has less options and more limited export methods, ie lower quality).

Otherwise, it's literally:

1) Get a DSLR, set it to JPG, continuous shooting mode, take 7 - 8 pics
in a row of each event / subject.

2) use image2raw (free) and avidemux (free) to create the slideshow and
add music. Or Quicktime Pro.

3) There is no step 3.
